Harrisburg, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team took on Widener in the consolation game of the Pride-Spirit-Honor Tournament in Harrisburg, Pa., and fell to the Pride 87-42.
- For the second straight game, the Panthers were able to open the scoring on their first possession as Hannah Lary was able to get inside and make a layup. Cailey Barnett made a putback after a minute and a half, but Widener answered, scoring 8 straight until a Lary three got the Panthers back on track.
- The Pride did not allow the Panthers to build momentum after the Lary three as they immediately responded with one of their own. This led to another long scoring run that saw Widener score nine straight.
- Daizjah Brown was able to open the Panthers' second-quarter scoring on a layup, but it did little to slow the Pride, who were able to push their lead to 18 points with 6 minutes to go in the half. Pitt-Bradford was able to get back-to-back buckets with just over 5 minutes to go. Lary made the first and then following a Widener turnover, Alexa Ackerman was able to rive inside and make a layup of her own. Widener was able to restore their 18-point advantage quickly and sent the game to halftime with the Panthers trailing 41-21.
- After the break, Widener was able to score three quick points but saw it answered as Brown got two offensive rebounds on the same possession and completed a three-point play on her third opportunity. She later completed another three-point play with 6:30 to go in the quarter. Brown scored 8 points for the Panthers in the third, but the Panthers saw their opponents increase their advantage to 65-33 heading into the final period.
- Cassidy King opened the scoring in the fourth quarter for the Panthers, but her basket was quickly answered, as the Pride scored 7 in a row before Ashley Hall was able to hit a three with 7:27 to go in the game. Widener held Pitt-Bradford to just 4 points over the final 7 minutes of play, layups from Lary and Brown, as they continued to add to their lead.
Hannah Lary led the Panthers in scoring as she finished with 15. She was highly efficient in the game as she went 7 for 11 from the field, and made the only three-pointer she attempted. Daizjah Brown scored 14 for the Panthers and added 5 offensive rebounds.
After the game, Hannah Lary was named to the All-Tournament Team. Over the two games, she averaged 11 points and totaled 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.
