The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team fell in its final game before the Thanksgiving Break, losing 84-64 to Fredonia.
- The Panthers' offense got off to a slow start as they were unable to score until 3:16 into the game when Hannah Lary made a layup inside. After the Lary bucket, the Panthers continued to struggle on the offensive end as the Blue Devils built a 17-6 lead.
- Following a timeout, the Panthers were able to whittle the lead down to just four points. Daizjah Brown started the run, driving inside to make a layup. After a Panther defensive stop, Cailey Barnett hit a three from the wing to get the deficit to 7. With 11 seconds left in the quarter, Brown hit a three after a Cassidy King steal to end the period down 18-14.
- Once in the second period, the visitors shut down the Panther offense, leading them to a 14-2 run to begin the quarter. Hannah Lary hit four free throws to slow the momentum, but Fredonia was able to outscore the Panthers 29-10 in the quarter to go to the half with a 23 point lead.
- The Panthers were unable to make any headway cutting into the lead in the third period as each basket they made on the offensive end was matched but Fredonia. Daizjah Brown scored 6 of the Panthers 18 points in the quarter, all of them coming from midrange jumpers.
- Pitt-Bradford was able to gain some momentum in the fourth quarter, as despite the large deficit, they were able to outscore the Blue Devils by 5 points in the final period. Seven different Panthers scored in the quarter, led by Brown who had 5.
Daizjah Brown led all scorers with 18 points. She shot 8 for 15 from the field, including 1-3 from beyond the arc. Cailey Barnett scored 15 for the Panthers, while Hannah Lary added 11, and Cassidy King scored 10. Kin was one rebound shy of a double-double as she finished with 9.
The Panthers fall to 2-3 on the season after the loss. They will have a week of for the holiday, before heading to Harrisburg to play in the Pride-Spirit-Honor Tournament. They will take on the hosts, Penn State-Harrisburg in the opener on Saturday, November 27th at 5:00 p.m. and then play a second game the following day.
