
PITTSBURGH -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team fell to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's first-place La Roche, 76-59, Saturday on the road.
The Panthers mounted a strong fourth-quarter push but it would not be enough as La Roche improved to an AMCC best 8-1 in conference play while the Panthers drop to 4-4 in AMCC action.
Four Panthers scored in double-figures with Latifah Cain leading the way scoring 14 points.
Shaelyn Snipes dropped 13 points and Jennifer Isenberg scored 12.
Etreece Adams earned a double-double of 10 points and 11 boards.
The two teams put together equal efforts in the first quarter with the Redhawks taking a 19-14 lead into the second.
But La Roche would begin to pull away before halftime, taking a 42-25 advantage into the break.
The Redhawks continued to control the tempo on both ends and extended the deficit in the third.
Down 68-36, Pitt-Bradford put together its toughest quarter of the game as it outscored the Redhawks 23-8.
But the effort would not be enough as La Roche held on for the victory.
The Pitt-Bradford defense forced 19 La Roche turnovers and turned it over just 11 times on offense.
On the boards, Pitt-Bradford picked up 17 offensive rebounds and turned them into 18 second-chance points.
Up next, the Pitt-Bradford Panthers will return home Wednesday to host D'Youville for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
