Pitt-Bradford Looks For Fourth-Consecutive Win Against First-Place Mount Aloysius

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team will look for its fourth-straight win as Mount Aloysius comes to the KOA Arena Saturday for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup.

Saturday's action will be the first for the Panthers since Dec. 9 after spending the week wrapping up the 2017 Fall semester with final exams.

Pitt-Bradford picked up a win in its most recent contest, a convincing 82-43 victory at Franciscan on Dec. 9.

While the Panthers scored 80+ points for the third time this season, it was the Pitt-Bradford defense that shined on Saturday, forcing 35 Franciscan turnovers and turning those takeaways into 34 points.

As part of the strong defensive performance, Ali Rinfrette grabbed seven steals while Aria Alston-Smith had five. Rinfrette (3.1 steals per game) and Alston-Smith (3.0 steals per game) lead Pitt-Bradford in steals and are fourth and fifth in the conference, respectively.

In addition to her tough defense, Rinfrette is also the top scorer in the conference at 22.4 points per game after an enormous week of scoring that included a 38-point outburst in last Wednesday's win at Chatham.

For her stellar week, Rinfrette was named the AMCC's Player of the Week.

Brittany Button has emerged as a key presence in the post for the Panthers as her 60.0 shot percentage leads the AMCC. Button dropped a career-high 13 points in Pitt-Bradford's win at Franciscan.

Jennifer Isenberg remains Pitt-Bradford's top rebounder with 7.1 boards per game, the eighth-best average in the conference.

Saturday's game is set to tip at 3 p.m. and will serve as the second game of a doubleheader with the men's team.
