The Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team could not overcome a cold shooting performance in its season opener Friday, falling to Rutgers-Camden 73-58 at the Jim Crawley Tournament.

Rutgers-Camden opened the game on a 9-2 run and led 26-12 after the first quarter, going 9-of-15 from the field. The lead would balloon to as much as 26 before the half ended, and the Panthers would get no closer than 11 the rest of the way.

Pitt-Bradford shot just 30 percent from the floor, including going 3-of-22 from long-range. The Panthers also struggled at the line, hitting only 13-of-26 attempts.

Rutgers-Camden hit 47 percent of its attempts from the floor and went 18-29 from the charity stripe.

Shirleah Ragin led the Panthers with 21 points in her Pitt-Bradford debut, Brittany Watts posted a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Ali Rinfrette totaled 11 points.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 0-1 on the season and will play York (N.Y.) in the consolation game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
