Pitt-Bradford women’s basketball coach accepts new job

BRADFORD, Pa. – Pitt-Bradford's women's basketball head coach Patrick Daniel has been named the new women's basketball head coach at Goucher College.

"Patrick has rejuvenated our women's basketball program over the past three years," said Lori Mazza, Pitt-Bradford's director of athletics. "His energy and passion for the game is seen in the effort that his players put forth both in the classroom and the court. We wish him luck as he moves forward in his career, but we know he has left an indelible mark on this program."

In his three seasons at the helm of the program, Daniel tallied a 47-30 record overall; those wins are the third most overall wins in school history. He also held a 37-17 record in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play, the second most conference wins in the history of the program.

During his last season with the Panthers, Daniel led Pitt-Bradford to its best season to date as the Panthers finished with a 17-8 overall record, tying for the most wins in program history, and went 14-4 in the AMCC, the most conference wins. He also led the Panthers to the best home record at 9-1.

In addition to leading his team to successes, Daniels coached a few players who received significant accolades: Alicia Kimmel, who was named an All-American and 2015 AMCC Player of the Year; Ali Rinfrette, named to the Second Team All-AMCC selection; and Kaserra Owens, named to the Third Team All-AMCC selection Kaserra Owens.

During his first season with the Panthers in 2012-13, Daniel was named the AMCC Co-Coach of the Year.

"Thank you to President Alexander, Director of Athletics Lori Mazza, the entire athletic department, coaches, athletic trainers, staff, faculty, students and the Bradford community for their support not only for me, but the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball program," Daniel said. "To all the student-athletes who played for me the last three years, thank you for trusting and believing in me. Pitt-Bradford will always hold a special place in my heart."

Daniel will begin his new coaching duties at Goucher, which is located in Townson, Md., on Aug. 1. Goucher is a Division III school and is part of the Landmark Conference.
