Kimmel tabbed Player of the Year, Rinfrette and Owens All-Conference

BRADFORD, Pa. -- Three members of the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team have received conference honors for the 2015 season, including senior Alicia Kimmel, who was selected as the AMCC Women's Basketball Player of the Year.

Along with her Player of the Year honors, Kimmel (Pine Grove/Pine Grove) was selected to the AMCC All-Conference First Team as a forward.

Kimmel, a three-time AMCC All-Conference selection, led the Panthers to a second-place regular-season finish. She finished the season ranked second in both field goals made (129) and field-goal percentage (51.8%), third in both points (294) and points per game, (16.3) and fifth in assist/turnover ratio (1.6).

Kimmel is only the third player in the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball program history to be named AMCC Player of the Year.

Receiving AMCC All-Conference Second Team honors was freshman Ali Rinfrette (Bradford/Bradford). Rinfrette emerged as a solid player in her first season with the Panthers, finishing second on the team in scoring with 12.6 points per game and leading the Panthers with 3.6 assists per game.

Rinfrette provided a spark for the Lady Panthers this season, becoming only the fourth freshman to be named to an AMCC All-Conference team. The last time it happened was during the 2002-2003 season.

Sophomore Kaserra Owens (Bradford/Bradford) received AMCC All-Conference Third Team honors for the Panthers. Owens finished third on the Panthers in scoring with 11.4 points per game.

Ownes not only provided the Panthers with consistent scoring on offense but also shined on the defensive side of the ball. Owens finished seventh in the conference with two steals a game.

This is the fifth time in program history that three players have made the AMCC All-Conference selections. The last time came in the 2003-2004 season.

Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team finished (17-8, 14-4) second in the AMCC standings to cap off an outstanding season for Coach Patrick Daniel and his squad.
