Pitt-Bradford Softball Wins AMCC Peak Performance Award

Pitt-Bradford Softball Wins AMCC Peak Performance Award

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team picked up silverware for their successes off the field of play on Wednesday, as they were named Peak Performers by the AMCC.

Each year, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference names 20 intercollegiate athletics teams as Peak Performers for recording the highest team GPA during the year's Fall semester.

Pitt-Bradford Softball picked up honors for their sport, finishing the fall semester with a 3.77 GPA. They not only had the best average among the conference's softball teams, but had the 3rd best average among all Peak Performers, falling one-hundredth of a point behind Carlow Women's Basketball in 2nd and .07 behind the team with the highest GPA, Carlow's Women's Cross Country team.

"This is a fantastic honor for our program as a whole," said head coach Tina Phillips. "Our players truly exemplify what it means to be student-athletes. They put in a lot of hard work on the field and in the classroom to make the most of their time here. I am very proud of what they have achieved."

This marks the second time that the Pitt-Bradford softball team has won this award. They previously were honored in 2020, when they posted a fall term GPA of 3.562.
