Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team split a doubleheader on Thursday evening, bringing their head coach to a career milestone with the victory. Head Coach Tina Phillips picked up her 400th career softball win after the victory in game one over Keuka.
“There is a lot more that goes into developing a winning program than just coaching. As a program, we have been blessed with a long list of great players, coaches, coworkers and administrators that have helped along the way,” said Phillips. “I thank all of them for their hard work and determination over the years that has made this achievement possible.”
Phillips has been with the Panthers since the 2003-04 season, compiling 367 wins at the helm of the softball program. She also has 33 victories from her time at Russell Sage. Phillips has led the Panthers to 3 AMCC Championship Tournaments and coached 5 AMCC season-award winners. She has been named AMCC Coach of the Year three times.
Additionally, Phillips served as Pitt-Bradford’s head volleyball coach for 12 seasons, where she won 157 matches, and one AMCC title.
“400 wins is a most noteworthy accomplishment that very few achieve,” said athletic director Bret Butler. “It’s doing the right things, the right ways for a very long time.”
Phillips and the Panthers are nearly halfway through their 2025 schedule. They will be back in action at the Kessel Athletic Complex on Saturday, April 28th when they host Westminster at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
