
BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team fell to Franciscan Friday afternoon in its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opener at the Kessel Athletic Complex, falling 9-0.
With the result, Pitt-Bradford moves to 0-4 on the season while Franciscan starts its 2019-20 campaign 1-0 with the shutout victory.
The Panthers' most competitive doubles match came in the No. 1 spot as Jacob Volz and Jeffrey Kocjancic fell by a score of 8-2.
In singles action, Volz put together a tough competition but fell 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot.
Drew Patla (No. 3) and Jonathan Azcona (No. 5) each fell by scores of 6-1, 6-0.
All other Panther singles matches were shutouts.
Noah Bartholomew, Noah Bartholomew and Brenan Italia also competed for the Panthers.
Up next, Pitt-Bradford will continue AMCC action with a road match at Mount Aloysius Sunday.
