Rider Scores Twice To Lead Panthers To 2-1 Win At Thiel

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Unversity of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team remains unbeaten after a 2-1 victory at Thiel Tuesday evening.

Chase Rider netted a pair of goals to power the Pitt-Bradford (2-0) offense.

Rider's first goal came just four minutes into the contest, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

Then in the 34th minute, he put Pitt-Bradford ahead 2-0 after he buried a penalty kick on a foul inside the Thiel box.

About a minute-and-a-half later, though, Thiel got the goal back.

But the strong Panther defense held off the Tomcats for the final 55 minutes of the contest and gave the Panthers the victory.

Sihle Sizani stopped six of the seven shots on goal he faced to pick up his second victory of the season.

The Panthers outshot Thiel 21-13, putting nine on goal.

Rider and Thomas Kelly each put three shots on goal while Spencer Sklar put two on net and Scott Compson fired one on goal.

The Panther defense held off six Thiel corner kick attempts while Pitt-Bradford earned five chances of their own.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will return home to host Chatham Saturday for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
