BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team picked up a convincing 4-1 victory over Pitt-Greensburg in its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference finale Saturday at Bradford High School Saturday.
"We let Greensburg score very early, but we did a great job not letting it affect us," Head Coach Nate Whitehurst said. "After conceding that early goal, we played really well, and scored some great goals."
With the win, Pitt-Bradford improves to 4-13 overall and 3-6 in AMCC action, while Pitt-Greensburg moves to 3-11 overall and 1-7 in conference play.
Prior to the start of the game, Pitt-Bradford honored its five seniors, Derrick Brock, Colin Irwin, Dakotah Graham, Ryuta Hayakawa and Noah Black.
Ugwunna Amadi scored twice while Alex Lincoln and Aidan Perez scored their first goals of the season to power Pitt-Bradford.
Greensburg's goal came just three minutes into the contest off a corner kick.
But the Panthers responded quickly, as Amadi gathered a through ball and knocked it past the charging keeper in the fifth minute.
Two minutes later, Lincoln took a feed from Ryuta Hayakawa from about 25 yards out and knocked a gorgeous strike past the diving keeper to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead.
The 2-1 lead would eventually hold until halftime.
Pitt-Bradford opened up a 3-1 lead in the 65th minute as Perez drove down the right side and fired a long strike toward goal, that hooked past the keeper and into the left side netting.
The Panthers' fifth and final goal came just five minutes later as Dakotah Graham drove down the right sideline, sent a low cross toward the box that found Amadi, who sent it past the keeper for his second goal of the night.
Pitt-Bradford eventually closed out the 4-1 victory.
In goal, Derrick Brock made three saves while playing all 90 minutes for the win.
Pitt-Greensburg outshot the Panthers, 13-12, while the Panthers put seven shots on goal to the Bobcats' four.
Amadi and J.T. Magro led the way with a pair of shots on goal apiece, while Perez, Lincoln and Chase Rider each put one on goal apiece.
Up next, Pitt-Bradford will head to Alfred State for a non-conference game Tuesday.
