Panthers Fall At Medaille In Final AMCC Road Contest

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team dropped an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game at Medaille Wednesday, 5-0.

With the setback, Pitt-Bradford falls to 2-6 in AMCC action, while Medaille improves to 5-1-1, good for third in the conference.

"We played reasonably well today," Head Coach Nate Whitehurst said. "A few guys playing through injuries held us back and some costly mistakes led to Medaille goals."

The defending conference champions scored their first goal 13 minutes into the contest.

The 1-0 score held until the 38th minute when the Mavericks scored their second goal.

Medaille grabbed its third goal with about a minute left in the first half and took a 3-0 lead into the break.

Sihle Sizani started the match in goal but was relieved by Derrick Brock in the 33rd minute. He made a pair of saves while in goal.

Goals in the 73rd and 88th minutes rounded out the scoring for Medaille.

Brock made four saves in goal for Pitt-Bradford.

The Mavericks fired 20 shots and put 11 on goal.

All five of Pitt-Bradford's shot attempts went on goal. Ryuta Hayakawa led the team with two shots on goal, while Ugwunna AmadiChase Rider and J.T. Magro recorded one shot on goal apiece.

Up next, the Panthers will close out their conference schedule hosting Pitt-Greensburg Saturday. The game will be played at Bradford High School starting at 4:15 p.m. Prior to the start of the game, Pitt-Bradford will honor its seniors for Senior Day.
