BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team surrendered a second-half lead and fell to La Roche, 4-3, on a muddy, wet Kessel Athletic Complex Saturday.

"We played really well today," Head Coach Nathan Whitehurst said. "The field conditions made it tough for both teams. We weren't able to put the game away in the second half after taking the lead."

La Roche (3-9-1, 1-3-1 AMCC) struck first eight minutes into the game.

But Pitt-Bradford (3-10-0, 2-3 AMCC) answered just two minutes later as T.J. Magro found the back of the net off a feed from Nicholas DiStefano.

Four minutes before halftime, La Roche broke the deadlock and took a 2-1 lead.

But a foul inside the La Roche box allowed for a Panthers' penalty kick just before the half. 

Ryuta Hayakawa lined it up and delivered, tying the game at 2-2.

The two teams eventually took the draw into the break.

Six minutes into halftime, Ugwunna Amadi drove toward the goal on the left side. With the keeper charging, he flicked the ball up in the air, over the keeper's head and into the bottom-right corner of the goal, giving the Panthers a second-half lead.

But two quick goals in the 62nd and 66th minutes for La Roche gave the Redhawks the lead -- from which they wouldn't look back.

Sihle Sizani made six saves in 90 minutes in goal for Pitt-Bradford.

The Panthers fired eight total shots to La Roche's 15.

Amadi put two on goal, while Alex Lincoln, Hayakawa and Magro each put a shot on goal apiece.

A physical match, the two teams were whistled for a combined 22 fouls, and four total yellow cards were awarded.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will hit the road and head to Penn State-Behrend for an AMCC match Tuesday.
