ALTOONA, Pa. -- Chase Rider scored a pair of goals to help power the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team to a 3-0 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference win at Penn State-Altoona Saturday.

"We played very well today," Head Coach Nathan Whitehurst said. "We possessed more than we have in recent games and we took advantage of the goal scoring chances we earned."

Pitt-Bradford improves to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in AMCC action while Penn State-Altoona falls to 1-8, 1-2 AMCC.

With two goals Sunday, Rider has now scored five on the season to lead the Panthers and tie for second-most in the AMCC. The freshman has a pair of multi-goal games so far this season -- both resulting in Pitt-Bradford wins.

T.J. Magro also scored for the Panthers, his first career goal.

In stopping all five shots on goal sent his way, Sihle Sizani picked up his first career shutout.

Rider gave the Panthers an early lead, collecting a pass from Dakotah Graham in the 17th minute and tapping it home.

Sizani and the Panther defense would hold off 10 Altoona first-half shots and Pitt-Bradford kept the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Rider's second goal came in the 62nd minute off a pass from Ryuta Hayakawa.

Pitt-Bradford eventually took the commanding three-goal lead with 12 minutes left in the contest as Magro corralled a rebound and hammered it home.

The Panthers held off the Lions the rest of the way and secured the shutout win.

Pitt-Bradford earned the win despite being outshot by the Lions, 21-14. However, the Panthers put eight on goal to the Lions' five.

Of the Panthers' eight shots on goal, Rider made up five. Lucien Kalkhof, Hayakawa and Magro put a shot on goal apiece.

Up next, the Panthers will look to continue their winning ways against hosting Hilbert Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.
