Panthers Drop AMCC Home Opener Against D'Youville

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team opened up its home conference schedule Tuesday hosting D'Youville.

In wet, slippery conditions, the Spartans bested the Panthers, 4-0, at the Kessel Athletic Complex.

The Spartans scored five minutes into the contest, but the goal would stand alone as the lone strike in the first half.

However, a goal five minutes into the second half doubled the Spartans' lead.

D'Youville grabbed two more quick goals in the 80th and 84th minutes to round out the scoring.

An emotional, physical match, as four total yellow cards were awarded. The two teams were whistled for a combined 19 fouls.

Sihle Sizani played all 90 minutes in goal, making a pair of saves.

The two teams were near even in shot attempts, with D'Youville earning the 11-10 edge.

Both teams put six shots on net.

Ryuta Hayakawa led the team with three shots while Chase Rider shot twice.

Aidan Perez, J.T. Magro, T.J. Magro, Hunter Pennypacker, Hayakawa and Rider each put a shot on goal.

Up next, the Panthers will resume AMCC action at Penn State-Altoona Saturday.
