Wooster Tops Panthers In Saturday Road Contest

WOOSTER, Ohio -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team suffered a road loss while battling through rainy, muddy conditions at Wooster Saturday, 4-0.

"It was a sloppy game, and we had to get used to the rain and muddy conditions," Head Coach Nathan Whitehurst said. "The first half was a struggle to figure things out, but we were able to adjust at halftime and played well from then on."

Wooster came out strong, scoring in the first minute of the game on a penalty kick and again in the sixth minute.

The 2-0 lead held up until Wooster doubled it with a pair of goals in the 38th minute and 42nd minute, taking a 4-0 lead into halftime.

Sihle Sizani took over in goal for the Panthers for the second half. He stopped all four shots on goal he faced, preserving the 4-0 score through regulation.

Lucien Kalkhof led the team with a pair of shot attempts. Chase Rider, T.J. Magro and Aidan Perez each fired one shot.

Colin Irwin and  Justin Tanner placed a shot on goal each for the Panthers.

Derrick Brock started in goal for Pitt-Bradford and played the first half, making seven saves on 11 shots on goal.

Corner kick attempts were even at seven for each team.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will open up a three-game homestand, starting with a matchup with Alfred on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
