BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer fell to Medaille, 7-0, in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match Tuesday at the Kessel Athletics Complex.

"We played a strong first half," Head Coach Nathan Whitehurst said. "But when Medaille scored its second goal, they took a lot of momentum and we just could not stop them."

The two teams put together a competitive first half as the Panthers fired three shots and went on counter strikes that fell just short in the last line of defense.

The Panthers had the first great chance to score in the game as they worked the ball around the Medaille box, and Wyatt May received a pass on the left side of the field. He then struck the ball perfectly, but the Medaille keeper was able to get two hands on it and keep the hard strike out of the net.

Pitt-Bradford kept Medaille out of the net for 37 minutes, as Derrick Brock made seven saves in goal during the half.

Just before the half, the Panthers had a strong chance to tie the game as Nicholas DiStefano created space on the right side just outside of the box and fired a shot that went just high of the crossbar.

Medaille doubled its lead two minutes into the second half, and then scored two more quick goals in a seven-minute span to take a quick 4-0 lead.

Three more goals down the stretch would give them their final total of seven.

In the second half, Brock made five saves for 12 total in the game.

The Panthers tested the Medaille keeper twice in the half, forcing two saves.

Pitt-Bradford fired seven total shots in the game. May led the way with two, while DiStefano, Ryuta Hayakawa, Ethan Acaster, Colin Irwin and Jean Paul Diaz had one apiece. 

The Panthers will be in action Saturday as they travel to La Roche for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
