Pitt-Greensburg Tops Panthers In Road AMCC Contest

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team fell to Pitt-Greensburg, 3-0, Friday afternoon.

"We did not play up to our standard today," Head Coach Nate Whitehurst said. "Pitt-Greensburg was able to capitalize on its opportunities."

The two teams put together a tough first half, as both teams kept the opposition out of the goal for much of the first half.

Ethan Acaster fired a shot on goal, but the Greensburg keeper was able to make the save.

Pitt-Greensburg got on the board just 30 seconds before halftime, though, on a shot that hit the post and was sent in off a rebound.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Steven McFetridge tested the Greensburg keeper as he put a shot on goal but it was saved.

Pitt-Greensburg extended its lead 12 minutes into the second half, scoring off a rebound once again.

Eight minutes later at the 65-minute mark, Greensburg took a 3-0 lead on a shot that ricocheted off the post and in. Pitt-Greensburg would hold strong, as the three-goal lead would last until the final whistle.

Derrick Brock made four saves in goal for the Panthers.

Along with Acaster and McFetridge, Wyatt May and Jean Paul Diaz also recorded shots for the Panthers.

Pitt-Bradford held Pitt-Greensburg to just two corner kick opportunities.

The Panthers will be in action next on Wednesday as they head to Hilbert.
