ALFRED, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback at Alfred Wednesday afternoon.

"We missed the chances we had early on, one hitting the post and one the keeper got to," Head Coach Nate Whitehurst said. "Once Alfred got their second goal, they were flying around the field and we were on our heels."

Just two minutes into the game, T.J. Magro gained space and fired a shot that looked destined for the goal but went off the post.

Three minutes after that Panthers chance, Alfred scored its first goal and took a 1-0 lead.

At the 21:46 mark, the Panthers had another chance to score as Wyatt May put one on net but the Alfred keeper made the save, preserving the 1-0 lead.

Alfred scored all three of its final goals between the 51:19 and 57:37 marks, and held on to the 4-0 lead the rest of the way.

On the day, the Panthers shot the ball seven times. May and T.J. Magro led the way with two apiece.

In goal, Derrick Brock faced 12 shots on goal and made eight saves.

The Panthers will welcome Penn State-Altoona on Saturday at 1 p.m. for their first Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference match of the season. Saturday's game will be the first game of a doubleheader with the women's team, which will play immediately after at 3:15 p.m.
