HARRISBURG, Pa. – Penn State-Harrisburg came out on top over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team, 5-0, on a wet, rainy Saturday afternoon.

"The weather made the conditions pretty difficult today," Head Coach Nathan Whitehurst said. "PSH was able to deal with those conditions much better than we were."

Penn State-Harrisburg got off to a fast start with a pair of goals in the first two minutes of the game. 

A third goal at the 18-minute mark, and another 10 minutes after, gave the Lions a 4-0 lead into the break.

The best scoring chance of the first half for the Panthers came at the 12:16 mark as Ryuta Hayakawa put a shot on goal that forced the PSH keeper to make a save. 

In the second half, the Panthers tested the Penn State-Harrisburg keeper once again as Jean Paul Diaz fired a shot on goal that was saved.

PSH grabbed one final goal at the 67:14 mark to go up 5-0.

The score would hold, as both teams went quiet the rest of the way.

Sophomore keeper Derrick Brock played all 90 minutes for the second straight game. He made nine saves along the way.

The Panthers earned four corner kick attempts.

Combined, the two teams were whistled for 32 total fouls. 

In addition to Hayakawa and Diaz's chances, T.J. Magro fired a shot high to account for the Panthers' third total shot. 

Up next, the Panthers will travel to Thiel on Tuesday, Sept. 5, for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The matchup will be the team's final road action before returning to the Kessel Athletic Complex for its home opener against Allegheny on Friday, Sept. 8.
