The Pitt-Bradford men's soccer team edged D'Youville 1-0 in its season finale Tuesday.

Christopher Wise scored in the closing moments of the first half for the game's only tally. Brian Bao, playing in his final game as a Panther, dribbled into the box and found Wise, who only needed one touch to finish for his first goal of the season.

Pitt-Bradford's defense pitched a shutout behind the stellar play of senior goalkeeper Colin Frownfelter. The Spartans were aggressive, mounting several attacks in the second half, yet Frownfelter and the Panther back line refused to yield the equalizer.

The Spartans' Hunter Sherman was wide on back-to-back attempts in the final minutes, and Frownfelter turned back Sherman's third attempt in the closing seconds to preserve the win.

D'Youville doubled up the Panthers in shot attempts, 22-11, and Pitt-Bradford held a 9-6 edge in corner kicks tries.

Frownfelter totaled eight saves, including six stops in the second stanza, and it was the fourth shutout of his career.

Pitt-Bradford finishes the season 2-12-2 under first-year head coach Nathan Whitehurst and narrowly missed the AMCC postseason tournament after being predicted to finish last in the league's preseason poll.

In addition to Bao and Frownfelter, it was the final career game for Samuel Franchi, Frederic Agou and Selorm Agbemabiese.

"It was great to end the season on a high note," Whitehurst said. "I'm glad the seniors could finish their career with a win at home."
