GREENVILLE, Pa. - Jah Wilson scored his first goal of the season, but the University at Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team couldn't overcome Thiel's strong second half resulting in a 4-1 loss to the Tomcats on Wednesday night.

Thiel held a 9-2 advantage in corners and the Tomcats ability to capitalize on those corners in the second half proved to be the difference in the game.

"Our inability to win balls in the air off of set pieces really hurt us tonight," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Darek Panol. "Jah made an incredible impact coming on the field as a sub and scoring his first goal of the season on a beautifully built up play starting in the midfield."

Despite ultimately losing the game, Panol was pleased with the play of the majority of his midfielders.

"I thought Meleki, Bobby, and Steven did a terrific job controlling the midfield," Panol said. "Unfortunately we just missed some opportunities and Thiel took advantage of their set pieces."

The Panthers and the Tomcats played a fairly even first half, leading to a 1-1 result after the first 45 minutes. Pitt-Bradford tallied five shots in the half, while Thiel had six.

In addition to Wilson's goal in the first half, Amadou Sow, Chris Wise, Wamalume, and Sorokas created the majority of the scoring chances for the Panthers.

The Tomcats took over in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals en route to the 4-1 victory.

Pitt-Bradford returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 3 p.m. against Houghton at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
