Pitt-Bradford Men’s Soccer Falls to Wells

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team played 110 minutes in the opening game of the Keuka College Tournament, and when it came time to close out the tournament Saturday afternoon against Welles, the Panthers didn't have much energy left in the tank.

Fatigue wasn't an issue for the Express, as they topped the Panthers 2-0 in the finale.

"I am really proud of how we left it all out on the field," said Panthers head coach, Darek Panol. "There's no doubt that we spent all of our energy on Friday night and didn't have much left for today. The boys gave it all they had and I am proud of the way they fought."

Max Cherry put the Express on the board in the 41st minute, and then added another in the 51st minute to seal the deal for Wells.

The Express held a 17-5 advantage in shots in the victory.

Colin Frownfelter played the majority of the game in goal, posting eight saves. Freshman Andrew Hoyt picked up his first collegiate save for the Panthers, playing the final 14 minutes in net.

Pitt-Bradford returns to action Wednesday afternoon for its home opener at 1 against Juniata at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
