Pitt-Bradford Men’s Soccer Battles to 1-1 Tie in Season Opener

Keuka Park, Ny. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime on Friday night at Keuka College.

"I'm so proud of the boys for going on the road and getting a positive result against a very good team in front of a huge crowd," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Darek Panol. "The boys put in the time over the summer and were in great soccer shape, which definitely helped us go out and start our season on a good note."

Steven McFetridge gave the Panthers an early 1-0 lead, finishing a cross from Amadou Sow in the 46th minute.

"Steven really showed great composure on the goal," Panol said. "He has shown great maturity early on and he understands what is expected of him this season."

Keuka answered in the 75th minute when Ben Schreiber finished a volley from Leandro Curran, knotting the score at 1-1.

Both teams had chances down the stretch, but neither could beat the keeper – or the crossbar – to earn the victory.

McFetridge led the offense, posting three shots, two of which were on goal. Josiah Blick added two more shots on net while Amadou Sow finished with three shots.

Colin Frownfelter was outstanding in goal, collecting seven saves, including some big stops late in the game.

The Panthers return to action Saturday afternoon at 3 against Wells in the finale of the Keuka College Tournament.
