Clymer, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team returned to action on Wednesday, playing in their final tune-up before the AMCC Championship Tournament next weekend. Playing at Peek n' Peak Resort's Upper Course, the Panthers posted a team score of 327, good for a 2nd place finish.
The Panthers' final score of 327 was 11 shots off the winning score of 316 from Pitt-Greensburg. They were 2 shots ahead of Niagara C.C. in 3rd and 11 ahead of Penn State-Behrend.
Max Bizzak and Brody Kamuda had the low scores for Pitt-Bradford, both firing 8-over 80s to finish tied for 8th. Michael Peterson shot an 83, which put him in a tie for 15th place. Brady Susi finished a stroke behind him, posting an 84, good for a 17th-place finish. Ben Tubbs had the non-scoring finish for the Panthers at 87, which put him in 25th.
Two Panthers also competed in the event as individuals. Andrew Heinze had a strong showing, posting his best score of the season at 80 to tie Bizzak and Kamuda in 8th. Shane Wetherington finished tied for 33rd at 93.
The Panthers will bring their fall season to a close with next week's AMCC Championships at Butler Country Club. They will begin play at the two-round tourney on Monday, Oct. 14th.
