Panthers in 16th After 1st Round at Mountain Valley Classic

Altoona, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team posted a team score of 335, good for 16th place in the first round of the Mountain Valley Classic at Sinking Valley Country Club on Friday, hosted by Penn State-Altoona

In a highly competitive field, the Panthers had a consistent day, as all six golfers finished within three strokes of each other.

Senor Brody Kamuda and freshman Brady Susi led the team, both posting 11-over-par 83s. Kamuda's round was aided by an eagle on the par 5 11th hole. They are tied for 77th. Max Bizzak was just one stroke behind the pair at 84. Benjamin Tubbs fired a 2-over 38 on the front nine, but struggled on the back, rounding out the Panther scoring at 85. Michael Peterson just missed out on scoring, as he finished at 86. Playing as an Individual, Andrew Heinze posted 10 pars on the way to an 84.

The Panthers will be back in action tomorrow, looking to improve scores and move up a few spots on the leaderboard. Round two of the tournament will be hosted by Mount Aloysius, and be played at Summit Country Club in Cresson. Tee times begin at 9:30.
