Smith, Tubbs Earn All-Conference Honors

Bradford, Pa. -- The AMCC released its 2023 Men's Golf All-Conference teams on Thursday and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford team had two members recognized.

Connor Smith and Ben Tubbs were both voted to the 3rd team by opposing coaches for their performances this season. 

Smith was the most consistent golfer for Pitt-Bradford this season, finishing with an average of 82.44 strokes per round. His best score was a 77 in the 2nd round of the Mountain Valley Classic. He had two fourth-place finishes and he finished tied for 8th at the AMCC Championships with a score of 161. This is Smith's second all-conference honor, as he made the 2nd team last season.

Tubbs averaged 82.56 strokes per round for Pitt-Bradford this year. His best play was a week-long span when he averaged 78.5 strokes per round over 4 events. His best finish was at Hilbert when he tied for 2nd. He was tied for 29th at the AMCC championships. This was Tubb's first All-Conference selection.

While the Panthers' conference season has come to an end, their fall has not as they have one final tournament next week. Smith, Tubbs, and the rest of the Panthers will travel to South Bend, In. where they will play in the two-round Region V Showcase. The first round of the tournament is on Monday, Oct. 23rd, with round 2 starting Tuesday.
