Panthers in 3rd after Day 1 at AMCC Championships

Presto, Pa. -- After 18 holes at the AMCC Golf Championships, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team is in 3rd place with a team score of 353. Two Panthers are in the top 10.

The Panthers are 15 strokes behind Mount Aloysius in 2nd and 26 behind the leaders, Penn State-Altoona. They are 1 stroke ahead of Penn State-Behrend who is in 4th and 3 ahead of Hilbert in 5th.

Broderick Kamuda led the Panthers with an 11-over par 83. He is currently in 6th place, 5 strokes behind the leaders at 78. Connor Smith also finished the first round in the top 10, as he is in a 4-way tie for 8th place with an 86. Max Bizzak is in a tie for 18th after shooting a 91, and Evan Jordan rounded out the scoring with a 93. Andrew Heinze finished with a 104.

The Panthers will look to improve their scores in the final round, as they will be playing in the final grouping with golfers from Mount Aloysius and Penn State-Altoona. Play begins at 9:00 a.m. with the Panthers beginning to tee off just after 10:00.
