Panthers in 13th After Round 1 of Region V Invite

Nashport, Oh. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team was back on the links on Monday, playing the first round of the Region V Preview Invitational at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Oh. The Panthers shot a 353 on the day, which puts them in 13th place.

Playing at a championship-level course, the event contains multiple teams from around the region that are preparing for their conference championship tournaments. The Panthers are joined by Penn State-Altoona, Penn State-Behrend, and Mount Aloysius from the AMCC. While the Panthers' score of 353 puts them in 13th, they are 3rd of the 4 AMCC teams and are 9 strokes behind Penn State-Behrend and 13 off of Penn State-Altoona. Otterbein leads the event with a score of 315.

Broderick Kamuda was Pitt-Bradford's top performer of the day. Kamuda posted an 8-over par 80, which puts him in a tie for 13th, just 5 strokes off the lead. Kamuda's round was buoyed by an eagle 3 on his 16th hole of the day. Evan Jordan shot an 84 to post the Panthers' 2nd best score of the day. He is tied for 34th place. Max Bizzak finished with a 92 and Connor Smith rounded out the scoring, shooting a 97. Dominic Puma finished at 98.

The Panthers will be back on the same course for round two tomorrow. Tee times for all competitors are scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.
