Panthers Jump 2 Spots, Finish Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic in 5th

Cresson, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team was able to shave 8 strokes off of their team score in round two of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic, improving their position from 7th to a tie for 5th. The Panthers shot a 322 in their round at Summit Country Club in Cresson, Pa.

The Panthers improved second round gave them a total score of 652 allowing them to move into a tie with Penn State-Harrisburg and jump Penn State-Altoona B, who shot a 339 to drop 5 strokes behind.

Connor Smith shot the 3rd best round of Day 2, posting a 3-over par 75. This gave him a total of 157, finishing the event tied for 12th. Broderick Kamuda also improved his score on the second day of the event, finishing today's course with a score of 78. For the event, he finished 2 strokes behind Smith, at 159, finishing in a tie for 15th.

Evan Jordan was not able to repeat his team-low score from the first round, shooting an 84 in the second round. Max Bizzak rounded out the Panther scoring with an 85, 3 strokes better than the previous day's score. Dominic Puma shot a 96, while Andrew Heinze shot a 92 playing as an individual.

The Panthers will have one day off, before returning to action on Monday when they travel to New Castle, Pa to play in the Westminster Fall Invitational, held at the Avalon Field Club.
