Panthers Dominate Medaille Invitational, Win by 13 Strokes

Cheektowaga, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team won their first tournament of the year on Wednesday, taking the Medaille Invitational with a score of 326.

Playing at Diamond Hawk Golf Club, the Panthers were able to finish 13 strokes ahead of the hosts, Medaille, who finished in 2nd. Hilbert College finished in 3rd with a score of 357, Elmira shot a 360 for fourth and Keuka rounded out the event with a score of 397.

Evan Jordan led the Panthers as he finished the invitational in 2nd, just one shot behind the winner. Jordan shot a 79, which ties his best competition round for the Panthers. FInishing just behind Jordan, in a tie for 3rd was Broderick Kamuda, who carded an 81. The Panthers rounded up their scoring with two more players in the top 5 as Connor Smith and Max Bizzak both shot an 83. Dominic Puma recorded a 90 in his first team round with the Panthers, putting him in 15th. Andrew Heinze competed as an individual and carded an 86. He was the top finishing individual and took 10th place.

The Panthers will have over a week off before their next competition. Next weekend, they will head to the Altoona area where they will play in the Mountain Classic. The two day event features the Penn State-Altoona Invitational on Friday, held at Sinking Valley Country Club, and the Mount Aloysius Invite, held at Summit Country Club in Cresson.
