Panthers Improve Score, Finish 5th at AMCC Championship

Butler, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team completed its final round at the AMCC Tournament on Tuesday, Despite cutting strokes off of their Round 1 performance, the Panthers were unable to improve their place in the standings, finishing in 5th.

The Panthers shot a 354 in the second round, shaving 4 strokes off of their first-round score. The Panthers were able to gain ground on 4th place Mount Aloysius but finished 2 strokes behind the Mounties for 5th. Penn State Altoona was able to come away with the Championship trophy, as their #1 Andrew Ferguson won the individual title.

Jarod Chaffee finished as the low scorer for the Panthers. After an opening-round 81, Chaffee shot a 90 in his second round to finish in 11th place. Evan Jordan also topped the top 20 for the Panthers. He shot an 89 on his second round to finish in 18th.

Broderick Kamuda shaved 4 strokes off of his 1st round score to shoot an 88 in the final round. He finished with a 180 and tied for 22nd place. Sean Campbell had the low score of the second round for the Panthers. He improved his first-round outing by 10 strokes to record an 87. His 184 put him in 27th place and rounded out the scoring for the Panthers. Drew Swanson was also able to improve his score on the second day of the competition. Swanson shot a 91, a six-stroke improvement from yesterday.

The Panthers finish their fall season with two tournament wins at the Hilbert and Medaille invitationals, and a 2nd place finish at the James Bowen Invitational. Freshman Broderick Kamuda finishes the season as the Panthers' low scorer, posting an 84.11 stroke average. Seniors Jarod Chaffee and Evan Jordan were not far behind, finishing with an average of 84.44 and 85.00 respectively.
