Butler, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team was back on the links on Monday, playing the first round of the AMCC Championship Tournament at Butler Country Club.
The Panthers finished the opening round in 5th place at 358 strokes. They are 7 strokes behind Mount Aloysius in 4th and 15 off of Pitt-Greensburg in 3rd.
Jarod Chaffee was the top performer for the Panthers. He fired a 10-over par 81, which put him in a tie for 4th place after 18 holes. He is 4 strokes behind the leader heading into the second round.
Evan Jordan shot an 88, which put him in a tie for 15th. Broderick Kamuda made the top 25 after the first round, finishing with a 92. Finally, Sean Campbell and Drew Swanson both shot a 97 on the day to round out the Panther scoring.
The second round of the tournament will tee off on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. The Panthers will play in the final grouping of the day, beginning at approximately 10:40 a.m.
