Panthers Take 2nd at Bowen Invitational

Erie, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team took 2nd place at the James Bowen Invitational, hosted by Penn State-Behrend, on Monday. Broderick Kamuda was the low scorer for the Panthers, finishing in a tie for 2nd.

The Panthers shot their best score of the season, posting a 315 in their final tune-up before the AMCC Championship Tournament. They finished just 12 strokes behind the winners and host, Penn State-Behrend.

While they played well as a team, two Panthers shot their career-low scores in the tournament, while a third tied his season-best. Freshman Broderick Kamuda shot a 4-over par 76 to finish in a tie for 2nd place. Sophomore Sean Campbell also set a career-best. He fired a 5-over 77, besting his previous best by 5 strokes. He finished in a tie for 5th place. Jarod Chaffe shot an 80 to match his best score of the season and finish in a tie for 9th.

Evan Jordan wrapped up the scoring for the Panthers, shooting an 82 and finishing in 14th place. Drew Swanson improved his season average with an 87 and finished in 20th place. Dominic Puma played as an individual in the tournament and shot a 97.

The Panthers have wrapped up their regular season, and now have two weeks to prepare for the AMCC Championship Tournament. The tournament is a two-day event, that will play its first round on Monday, Oct. 18, and the second on Tuesday the 19th. It will be held at Butler Country Club.
