Panthers Host Pitt-Bradford Invitational, finish 7th.

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Golf Team began their season on Saturday by hosting the Pitt-Bradford Invitational at the Pennhills Club. In a tight tournament that saw 11 strokes separate 5 different teams, the Panthers finished their home tournament in 7th.

As a team, the Panthers shot 324, which was 21 shots behind the winners from Hobart. They also finished just behind two fellow AMCC foes, as Mount Aloysius shot a 321 and Pitt-Greensburg finished just one stroke ahead with a 323.

Freshman Brody Kamuda carded the low score for the Panthers on the day. In his collegiate debut, he fired a team-best 79, which put him in a tie for 13th. Senior Jarod Chafee finished in a tie for 22nd with an 81, while Drew Swanson and Sean Campbell rounded out the scoring with matching 82s.

Evan Jordan finished in 35th with an 87, while newcomer Dominic Puma played as an individual and shot a 96.

Spencer Beran of Pitt-Greensburg won the medal for low score of the day, firing a 1-over 71 to win the tournament by just one stroke.

The Panthers will be right back in action later this week, as they travel to Grove City on Thursday for the Grove City Invitational.
