Panthers Finish AMCC Championship in 3rd, Fiore Takes 2nd

Clymer, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford golf team was unsuccessful in their bid to win their third consecutive AMCC Championship, but was able to earn a 3rd place finish.

The Panthers were able to shave 3 strokes off of their first day total, shooting a team 346 in the final round. That brought their tournament total to 695 strokes. Finishing ahead of the Panthers were Penn State-Altoona who shot a 652, and the champions, Penn State-Behrend who shot a 632.

Individually, Johnny Fiore was the top finisher for the Panthers. In the final round, he fired a 4-over 76, bringing his total to 156. Fiore carded an eagle and three birdies on the day. He was able to finish with a two-putt birdie on the par-5 18th hole to secure his second-place finish.

Nick Molé was the second-best finisher for the Panthers. He shot a 169 over the two days to finish in 14th.

Jarod Chaffee was able to improve his first-round score by 2 shots to finish in 17th with a 178.

Drew Swanson rounded out the Panther scoring with a 96, equalling his total from the first day.

Evan Jordan carded a 97 and finished in 26th.

Ryan Meyer of Penn State-Behrend took the top individual medal after finishing the tournament with a 5-over par 149.

The Panthers have one more event scheduled for the season. They will head to Cresson, Pa. to play in the Mount Aloysius Invitational on Saturday the 24th. The tournament will be held at Summit Country Club and begin at 12:00 p.m.
