Golf in 3rd at AMCC Championships after Day 1

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Golf team finished their Opening Round of the AMCC Championship Tournament on Sunday and currently sit in 3rd place through 18 holes.

As a team, the Panthers shot a 349 first round at the Peek'n Peak Golf Resort. They are 15 strokes behind 2nd place Penn State-Altoona, and 29 strokes off the leaders, Penn State-Behrend

Johnny Fiore is currently the low score for the Panthers, shooting an 8-over par 80 in the opening round. He is in a 2-way tie for second and is 5 strokes off the leader, Ryan Meyer of Penn State-Behrend.

Nick Mole is also in the top 10 for the Panthers. He fired an opening-round 83, good for a tie for 7th place.

Jarod Chaffee shot a 90, while Evan Jordan and Drew Swanson both shot 96 to round out the scoring.

The Panthers will be back on the course tomorrow for the final round. The action begins at 11:00 a.m. with the Panthers likely teeing off after 12:00 p.m.
