Golf Heads into AMCC Championship with Win at Medaille Invitational

Hamburg, N.Y. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Golf team picked up a confidence-boosting victory at the Medaille Invitational on Monday, its final competition before next weekend's AMCC Championship.

The team eased its way to a 36-stroke victory over Elmira and hosts Medaille. The Panthers shot a well-rounded 321, at Wanakah Country Club, which was 33 shots over par. It was the Panthers' first tournament win of the season, following consecutive 3rd place finishes.

Evan Jordan led the way, firing a 79 which was good enough for a 3rd place finish. Right behind Jordan, were Johnny Fiore and Jarod Chaffee, who each shot an 8-over par 80 to tie for 4th. Nick Mole rounded out the scoring by shooting an 82, putting him in 7th.

The Panthers also saw good performances from its two freshmen. Playing individually, Drew Swanson shot an 83, which put him in a tie for 8th place. Sean Campbell shot a 90, which saw him finish in 11th place.

The Panthers will now have a week to prepare for the conference tournament. The Panthers will be looking for their third straight conference crown, after winning the tournament in 2018 and 2019. The AMCC tournament is a two-day event, that will be played on Sunday, April 18th, and Monday, April 19th. It will be held at Peek'n Peak Resort in Clymer New York.
