Panthers Win Penn State-Altoona Invitational Saturday

ALTOONA, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team finished first in the Penn State-Altoona Invitational Saturday at Sinking Valley Country Club.

Pitt-Bradford captured the win out of 15 total teams in the event with a score of 310.

The Panthers tied with Penn State-Behrend, but received the edge for first place after a tie-breaker.

Cary Ignaczak captured the individual medal as he shot an event-leading 73.

Sam Marchini was the second-leading Panther performer with a score of 78, and Matt Moonan was close behind at 79.

Cooper Cordova shot an 80 and Jamie Rook fired an 81.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will have a quick turnaround as it heads to Summit Country Club for the Mount Aloysius Invitational Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday's events combine for the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic. The combined scores from the two weekend events will determine the winner of the classic. Pitt-Bradford finished second in the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic a season ago.
