Panthers Finish Fourth At Thiel In Spring Action

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford competed in the Thiel Invitational as part of the spring portion of its season.

The Panthers finished fourth of nine teams competing.

"Just an average day on the course," Head Coach Keith Stauffer said. "We really struggled with consistency due to lack of practice time. I am confident we'll get better very soon. Our ball striking was very good for this early in the year. I am pleased with that. As soon as we tighten up our short games and course management, we'll be fine."

Matt Moonan was the team's top performer with a score on 78 and Jamie Rook was close behind at 79.

Cary Ignaczak fired an 81 and Cooper Cordova shot an 83.

Johnny Fiore rounded out the Panther performers with a score of 90.

As a team, Pitt-Bradford shot a 321.

Grove City won the event with a team score of 305.

The spring action serves as part of the Panthers' preparation for the 2019 NCAA Championships on May 14, which they qualified for by winning the AMCC Championship in the Fall.
