Panthers Tie For Third Monday At Penn State-Behrend Invitational

ERIE, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team resumed action in the Penn State-Behrend Invitational at the Lawrence Park golf course Monday.

Pitt-Bradford finished tied for third with the host Penn State-Behrend at 315.

"I'm pleased overall, but we need to clean up our short game," Head Coach Keith Stauffer said. "It was a good tuneup for the conference championship as all the AMCC teams were competing."

La Roche earned the victory with a score of 305 while Penn State-Altoona was second at 312.

All nine of the AMCC teams were in attendance, with Penn State-Behrend competing with both an 'A' team and a 'B' team for 10 squads overall.

Johnny Fiore tied for second overall out of 54 total individual golfers with a score of 74.

Cooper Cordova was four strokes back as he tied for 10th with a score of 78. Cary Ignaczak tied for 18th as he fired an 80.

Jamie Rook shot an 83 and Matt Moonan rounded out the Panther competitors with an 84.

"We are getting production from different guys in the lineup each tournament," Stauffer continued. "I'm just waiting for everyone to play well at the same time. Once that happens, we will climb to the top of the leaderboard."

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will compete in the Hilbert Invitational at Brierwood Country Club Thursday before heading right into AMCC Championship action Sunday and Monday.
