Panthers Tie For Best Team Score At Hilbert

HAMBURG, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team tied for first out of six teams in the Hilbert Invitational at Brierwood Country Club in the team's final action of the 2017 regular season Thursday.

"Matt played well all day, Cary battled for a strong back nine and Sam also played well," Head Coach Keith Stauffer said. "I think we are ready for the AMCC Championships this weekend."

The Panthers and Medaille both shot 316 as a team, but Medaille was given the win based on the tiebreaker of an individual low score in its lineup.

Matt Moonan paced the Panthers as he fired a 77, the third-best score recorded at the event.

Cary Ignaczak was two strokes behind at 79, tied for fifth-best in the event.

Both with scores of 80, Brett Gardner and Sam Marchini tied seventh.

Jamie Rook rounded out the scoring for the Panthers with a 91.

Up next, the Panthers will play the season's main event as they head to Avalon Lakes Country Club for the two-day AMCC Championships Sunday and Monday.
