Panthers Shoot 309 In Penn State-Altoona Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team shot a 309 and finished sixth out of 14 teams in the Penn State-Altoona Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Grove City's 298 bested the competition, while La Roche finished just one stroke behind at 299.

While 14 teams competed, 12 different schools were present, as Medaille and Penn State-Altoona competed with two separate lineups each.

Cary Ignaczak paced the Panthers with a score of 72, a career-low score.

Jamie Rook was next at 77, and Sam Marchini was one stroke behind at 78.

Brett Gardner shot an 82, and Matt Moonan finished at 85 to round out the scoring for the Panthers.

Pitt-Bradford will have a quick turnaround, heading to Mount Aloysius to compete tomorrow.

"Our score would have won this tourney last year, so I am pleased with the overall score," Head Coach Keith Stauffer said. "It's great to consistently be in contention again. Hopefully we'll get the victory tomorrow at Mount Aloysius."
