DUBOIS, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team earned the victory over six other teams in the Penn State-DuBois Invitational Wednesday afternoon by shooting a 301, the lowest in Pitt-Bradford golf history.

The program's previous low score was a 306, first coming in 2002 and later tied in 2006. 

"It feels great to get our first victory of the year," Head Coach Keith Stauffer said. "The guys played great, especially Jamie with an even par round of 71. Cary was solid once again and Sam came through as well."

It was a solid team effort by each Pitt-Bradford golfer, as four of the five members of the lineup finished with a score in the 70's.

Jamie Rook led the way with a 71, an even par and his lowest ever at the collegiate level.

Cary Ignaczak recorded a 74, while Brett Gardner and Sam Marchini shot a 78 apiece.

Matt Moonan rounded out the Pitt-Bradford scoring with an 81.

The Panthers will be in action next as they head to Penn State-Altoona for a competition at Sinking Valley Country Club on Saturday.
