BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf program hosted the Pitt-Bradford Invitational at Pine Acres Country Club Saturday afternoon, finishing fifth out of 16 teams.
Of the 16 teams, all nine of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference teams competed, as well as Grove City, Westminster, Hobart, Kent State @ Tuscarawas, Thiel, Penn State-Fayette and Elmira.
Penn State-Behrend earned the win in the tournament, while Grove City and La Roche tied for second place. Penn State-Altoona came in fourth, directly ahead of the Panthers.
A pair of Pitt-Bradford golfers finished in the top 10.
Freshman Cary Ignaczak shot a 77, which was good for eighth place. Senior Brett Gardner finished directly behind Ignaczak in ninth place with a score of 78.
Jamie Rook finished just outside of the top 10 as he shot an 80, which tied for 11th place.
Sam Marchini shot a 90, and Matt Moonan finished one stroke behind at 91.
Aaron Vansickles finished with a 96 and Shayne Kraynyk shot a 100.
The Panthers will be in action next on the Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Medaille Invitational at Glen Oak Country Club at 11 a.m.
