Moonan, Gardner Lead Panthers to Fifth-Place Finish

The Pitt-Bradford men's golf team finished fifth at the James Bowen Invitational hosted by Penn State Behrend Monday.

Penn State Altoona captured the team title with a score of 313, eight shots clear of runner-up La Roche. Penn State Behrend finished three shots behind the Redhawks for third (322), and Behrend's "B" team finished fourth with a score of 325.

Pitt-Bradford posted a combined score of 332, its lowest team total since hosting its 15th annual Fall Invitational to open the season.

The Panthers were led by the duo of Matt Moonan and Brett Gardner. Both players fired an 82 to finish tied for 14th, seven shots behind the medalist. Jamie Rook and Sam Marchini posted identical rounds of 84 to tie for 24th, and John Bedford posted a 100.

The Panthers will compete in the AMCC Championships starting Sunday in Warren, Ohio.
