Men's Golf Finishes 5th at AMCC Championships

WARREN, Oh. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team finished its season with a fifth place finish in the AMCC Championship Tournament on Monday afternoon at Avalon Lakes Country Club.

"I don't like to call it a rebuilding year, but it was definitely a teaching and learning year," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Keith Stauffer. "We were a young team with little experience. We had some growing pains throughout the year, but I think we finally learned how to play smart golf at the end of the year."

Zach Spicer led the Panthers, finishing fourth overall after carding an 84 in the final day for a two-day total of 162.

Brett Gardner tied for 19th with a total score of 172 (91, 81), while Tom Morlock finished 21st with a 173 (85, 88).

John Bedford and Aaron Van Sickles posted a 189 (95, 94), and 190 (91, 99), finishing 34th and 35th, respectively.

"With lots of practice between now and next August, I feel the team will be a strong contender in the AMCC," Stauffer said.
