3 Panthers Named to All-AMCC Teams; Butler and DeLoof Voted Player and Coach of the Year

Bradford, PA -- Following their historic 2024-25 campaign, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team had three players and coach recognized by the AMCC for their accomplishments this season.

Jamarion Butler was named as a 1st Team All-Conference performer and voted the conference's Player of the Year. Jesse Laster and Braylen Salters were both named to the 3rd Team, and Head Coach Jesse DeLoof was selected as the AMCC's Coach of the Year.

Butler's Player of the Year award is the first for a Pitt-Bradford men's basketball player since Matt Beacom won the award in 2002-03. It is the 4th time a Panther has been selected as the top player in the conference. DeLoof's Coach of the Year award is the program's first since 2000-01 when Andy Moore was voted conference Co-Coach of the Year.

Jamarion Butler, a senior from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, led the AMCC with 21.0 points per game this season, including 20.0 in conference play. He was also 5th in the AMCC with 7.8 rebounds per game, 10th with 2.8 assists per game, and 2nd in steals per game with 2.2. Butler also leads the AMCC in free throws made, hitting 127 at a 73% clip. He was in the top 25 in the nation in points per game. He was AMCC Player of the Week twice.

Jesse Laster, a senior from Cleveland, OH,  averaged 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds, 1,9 assists, 1,8 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game for the Panthers in the regular season. The high-flying wing was a key cog in the Panthers' pressure defense and his 2.4 offensive rebounds per game was 3rd in the AMCC against conference opponents. He finished 11th in the AMCC in field goal percentage at 52.3% and 19th in free throw percentage at 73.3%. Laster was 3rd in the AMCC in blocks per game (1.1) and top 10 in steals per game (1.8).

Freshman Braylen Salters had a strong start to his career, averaging 16.0 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. He was 10th in scoring and led the league in steals per game. Salters shot 47.5% from the field, 40.0% from three, and 72.3% from the line. The freshman guard played 23.2 minutes per game, and was 3rd in AMCC play with 26.9 points/40 minutes played. He was AMCC Player of the Week 1 time.

Head Coach Jesse DeLoof led the Panthers to a historic 23-3 campaign, tied the program's NCAA-best win total, and swept the regular season and tournament titles for the first time since 2001-02. DeLoof was named HoopDirt.com DIII Coach of the Week in December. DeLoof took over the program after the 2019-20 campaign, in which the Panthers went 1-24. Over 4 seasons of competition with DeLoof at the helm, the Panthers have increased their win total each year, winning 9, 12, 14, and now 23 games in each season. This year, DeLoof and assistant coach Nathan Schneider implemented a high-pressure and fast break system which resulted in the Panthers scoring 104.4 points per game and forcing 23.35 turnovers a game, both of which were the 3rd best totals in the NCAA.

The Panthers will continue their program in the NCAA Tournament as they will head to Hampden-Sydney, VA for the first round. They will play TCNJ at 4:10 on Friday.
