Butler Named AMCC Player of the Week after Trio of Dominating Performances

Bradford, PA -- University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball player Jamarion Butler was named AMCC Player of the Week on Monday after three dominating performances over difficult competition over the holidays.

Butler averaged 31.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while shooting 55.9% from the field as the Panthers went 2-1. In the tight loss to #6 Wooster, Butler scored 33 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and then led Pitt-Bradford to a win over Case Western with 31 points and 13 rebounds. In the return to conference play, He scored 31 points, grabbed six rebounds, added three assists, and tallied three steals in a win at La Roche. He was previously named to the All-Tournament team at the Kiwanis Wooster Classic last week.

He is the second Panther to earn Player of the Week honors after Braylen Salters also received the award on December 16th. He was chosen for the same award one time last year.

Butler and his teammates are off to the program's best start since joining the NCAA in 1998. They will look to build on their 10-1 start on Wednesday when they host Carlow as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. Tipoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. in KOA Arena.
